Email solicitations of Trinity members

Do you know Martha Gioielli? Do you know if the person that sent you an email with her name is REALLY Martha? Does Martha REALLY want you to buy her something from Amazon?

These are some of the questions that should be running through your mind if you receive an email from ANYONE claiming to know you and asking for a favor. That holds true for even FAMILY members. In these days of easy email phishing attempts, you might want to pick up the phone and call that person that wants a favor. Just think about it. If you had a family member or friend in trouble, would they really ask for you to help them in an email?

Martha discovered this morning that someone was using her email identity to solicit Trinity members and others. It looks like an email from Martha, but it is not. This is a pretty simple thing for someone to do and it’s an easy trap for you to fall into.

Be very cautious with any contact from someone asking for you to directly send them anything. It’s just the world we live in these days.
